Teacher's Notes- This assignment works well as one of the earliest formal writings becuase it provides a vocabulary and foundation for discussing the writing process throughout the semester. While the meta-analysis aspect of it is sometimes daunting to students, it has the potential to provide a lot of valuable insight into the writing process early in the semester.
